Oh dear. I can't believe it really happened. Gabe started kindergarten! It's the beginning of a whole new chapter of life - for all of us. Grace also started "preschool" the same day. They were both so excited! They were decked out in their new duds and carrying their new bags and lunchboxes. The whole fam took Gabe to the bus stop. He was embarassed when I asked to take his picture (already?!) but he was a good sport and let me anyway. He hopped on the bus without looking back! We met up with him at the school so we could take pictures. He unloaded his backpack, found his seat and started playing. We kissed him goodbye and that was that! Then we took Grace to her little school - the same one Gabe went to for three years. She was sooo excited and didn't shed a tear. I can't say the same for myself! I came home and cried my eyes out. Then I went shopping.
Both of them were happy and tired when they got home. It was a great day!
I love that the backpack is still as big as he is.
Walking into school. I just about lost it at this point. He's still so little in my mind!
Outside his classroom
All settled in. Bye mom!
Yes, that's a different outfit than the one she left in. I guess she was having too much fun to remember to go potty.
He made it home safe and sound!

Wow-they both went on the same day! I would have BAWLED!! Brooklyn doesn't start preschool for a few more weeks-thank goodness! Although she's having a rough time, were going shopping today for her OWN waterbottle. Simple pleasures!
Ok, that first picture of Gabe being embarrassed and Grace's sweet smile just KILLS me!! And the one of his backpack!! AAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!! He's too little for school!!!!!!!! And I'm glad Grace is enjoying preschool... that worked out great that they both started the same day so that she didnt feel left out. Oh and I LOL'd the part where you said you came home and cried and then you went shopping :) Good girl.
You sure have cute kiddos Cami! What fun for them to start school on the same day! I don't look forward to taht day :-) I just about cried reading your blog...just imagine what I'll be like when Bridger goes in 3 more years :-)
You should totally save that back pack and take a picture of him in it on the first day of school every year until he is a senior! That would be hilarious to see and fun to see his growth! Love that Grace is so independent! Reminds me of Sam and Sawa- "I can do anything you can do" attitude.
They are so darling. They look so grown up. When did this happen to us? Kids in school? Weren't we just showing each other our own school clothes a few years ago?
