1. I was 7. That fall I started 3rd grade with Mrs. Tro who was not only a teacher, but a clown (no really, I think she did it on the side or something)! Needless to say, we had some good times.
2. We lived in Evanston, WY. It was probably around this time that my future husband was driving through town with my future uncle and saying "Who lives here? I'll never marry a girl from Wyoming." HA!
3. My BFF, Alexis and I would play with our New Kids barbies while listening to Wilson Phillips. (Ok, it may not have been that exact year, but alas, it happened.)
4. I also remember some fun times at the ball fields watching my dad play for Cazine's and eating moon suckers.

1. I was a senior in highschool. What a busy time!
2. I was on the Lancelles drill team. I loved it! My mom says I said I didn't want to try out after my junior year because of all the drama, but I don't remember too much about that. I guess now that I'm not dancing, I look back on those times with rose colored glasses. But, with all those teenage girls together 24/7, I'm sure there was plenty of drama, and then some.
3. I think it was that summer that I worked at Surf-n-Swim. It was kind of scary that they gave me a lifegaurd t-shirt, but I couldn't even swim! Don't worry, I was only working concessions :o ) I remember eating delicious and fattening fries with nacho cheese on them. And, the candy was free - danger! Ah, those were the days when calories really didn't count. Despite that, it wasn't my favorite job - I think the last straw was when I had to clean up a disgusting mess in the bathroom. Yuck!

1. Erik and I would celebrate our 2nd anniversary on November 2nd.
2. We moved to New York City that summer. Hooray! I was so excited. That first week was a little rough, though. I had to move out before Erik did to start my new job. Our furniture hadn't arrived yet, so I was in an empty apartment sleeping on an air mattress next to a little night light I bought at the drug store. It was so lonely! I remember talking to my mom while she was at a family party and just losing it. But, I think I got it out of my system that week. Once Erik and the furniture arrived, I was happy. We had the best time there! I miss that city. I think part of me will always be a New Yorker, even though we didn't live there as long as I would have liked.
3. I started a job at Amex as an assistant to the VP of Global Pricing. Once I found my footing and learned the ins and outs of the job, it was awesome. By far my favorite job!
1. 6 years of marriage - woohoo! :o)
2. Gabe turned 1 in January. What a fun year with him. He grew up so much and became much more independent. By the end of the year, we were having pretty understandable dialogue.
3. Erik and I went to Italy in Feburary with our friends, the Bigelows. We had a wonderful time. We saw Rome, Florence and Venice. The guys in our ward still tell Erik he's not allowed to tell their wives that he took me on a gondola ride in Venice on Valentine's day :)
4. We also had a fun trip to Utah in the summer, to Chicago in August and to Kansas City and Denver in December for Douglas and Melissa's wedding. We enjoyed visits from my grandparents and my parents in the fall. We did a lot of fun stuff! We saw more of Georgia - from Augusta to Stone Mountain. And, we spent lot of time having fun with our Georgia family, the Mendenhalls. I don't know what we'd do without them!
Yesterday I...
1. Spent a rare full day with both Erik and Gabe. It's not often Erik doesn't have something going on, so we treasure that time! We went to Home Depot to figure out what we need for a new project Erik's starting - he's going to put flooring down in our attic so we can have more storage space. Then, we went to JumpIts - an awesome blow-up playground just around the corner from our house. Gabe loves it!
2. We nervously listened to the tornado sirens all day! And, we frantically squeezed both cars in the garage when it started to hail. We are very blessed that we didn't have any real damage done. In our stake, we had a branch president completely loose his house - I mean it was destroyed! So scary, but luckily no one was hurt.
3. I picked up what few toys didn't sell at a consignment sale. I know they don't have these everywhere, so let me explain. They are awesome! It's usually put on by a church, and it's only kids stuff. It's like going to a yard sale, but it's organized and it's huge and it's fun! Probably 90% of Gabe's toys are from consignment. Once you see what a good deal you can get, it's hard to pay full price at the store! Well, I think I got a little too carried away with all the bargains, so Ali and I decided to sell a few things that the kids don't play with or that are just taking up too much space. We did pretty well - I only had a few items to pick up that didn't sell.
4. We went out for Thai food. I was craving green curry - I think it's one of my new favorites! I told Erik that before we got married, I never would have guessed that one day I would have a craving for green curry. Thanks for expanding my culinary horizons, hon!
5. We bought a scale that also measures body fat, muscle, water, etc. There's no motivation like knowing what percentage of your body is fat!
Today I...
1. Went to church
2. Ate our traditional Sunday spaghetti dinner.
3. Made chocolate chip cookies (Cindy Matthews' recipe - the best!) to take to our neighbors. They are so nice. The dad and son play catch out in the court, and Gabe always loves to watch and wants to play with them. So, today the son came over and gave Gabe one of his old baseball mitts. How sweet! Gabe is thrilled.
4. am blogging. Longer than I intended... isn't that always the case?
This year I will....
1. Go to Utah and celebrate Easter with my fam (we leave on Tuesday!).
2. Go to Costa Rica with my sweetie next month. Thanks for coming to babysit, mom and dad! Erik's company is having a work function there, so I get to tag along!
3. Go to Florida with the fam in July! Wow, we have lots of travelling planned.
4. Get a fence in our backyard. Or, you might call it a corral.
5. Get better at studying the scriptures instead of just reading
6. Plan some fun and memorable enrichment activities for our ward.
7. Focus on being a good wife and mother. I'm so grateful for my little family! I couldn't ask for a better husband - he is most definitely the man of my dreams. And, Gabe is no doubt a miracle in my life. I am grateful every day that I am soooo blessed.
Now, Cortnie, Cori, Melissa, Trulee, Ali - you're all tagged!
